The region’s main hospital remains by far the busiest in the country once again today.
The latest trolley watch statistics from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there werw 78 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 46 of those in the emergency department.
It comes as the hospital continues to manage a covid outbreak affecting three wards.

The number of patients being treated for the virus has fallen by 11 to 62 over the past 24 hours, with ICU numbers remaining steady at 9.
