The region’s main hospital remains the busiest in the country again today, with the level of overcrowding reducing only marginally.

The latest INMO figures show there were 77 people waiting to be admitted at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 56 of those in the emergency department.

Its a reduction of only one on yesterday’s figure and is 31 more than the next busiest facility.

It comes as 437 patients were left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country this morning.
