75 On Trolleys At UHL

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is three times that of any other facility in the country.

The latest INMO figures show there were 75 people waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 66 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is 50 more than the next busiest facility.

The number of patients being treated in the hospital has also jumped over the weekend, with 9 patients now being treated for the virus at the Dooradoyle facility today, up from 6 on Friday.

While, there’s one patient in the Intensive Care unit.
