75 On Trolleys At UHL

The region’s main hospital has seen another jump in overcrowding today.

75 people are on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation – up from 51 yesterday.

University Hospital Galway has the next highest figure in the country, with 59 patients waiting for a bed there.

UHL is still treating 43 patients for COVID-19 as of last night, which is the highest of any facility nationwide.

8 of these patients are receiving treatment in intensive care.
