A major new development has been approved for one of Clare’s most densely populated communities .
It comes as the local authority has granted permission for a large car park and bicycle rack facility in Sixmilebridge
Clare County Council will construct the new public car park that will be equipped with 67 bays.
Four of the spaces will be allocated specifically for disabled drivers and passengers while two electric vehicle charging points will also be provided.
Furthermore, the project is set to deliver eight new bicycle stands which will create sixteen spaces with all relevant supporting infrastructure such as boundary walls, railings and site lighting to be installed.
With 183 residents now living in every square kilometre of Sixmilebridge, a new public car park was already recommended during the consultation process for the town’s masterplan.
Ultimately Clare County Council’s planning office granted the development with unconditional approval.
