Almost 43,000 households in Clare have registered to pay the water tax, which has the fourth highest rate of any county in Ireland.

The figure amouts to 83 per cent of people in the county, though over 7,300 people have yet to register.
Shannon-based Councillor Gerry Flynn, a staunch critic of Irish Water says the figures aren't surprising.
He feels it's not a reflection of whether the campaign against water charges has been successful:
