70 On Trolleys At UHL

Overcrowding has increased sharply at the region’s main hospital over the weekend.

70 people are waiting for bed at University Hospital Limerick as of this morning according to the INMO, up from 45 on Friday.

32 of these patients are in the emergency department, with a further 38 in overflow areas of wards.

It’s the highest figure of any facility nationwide, with Letterkenny University Hospital having the second highest number of patients on trolleys at 45.
