7-Yr-Old Who Died In Killaloe Swimming Pool Incident Named Locally

A 7-year-old boy who died after getting into difficulty at a hotel swimming pool in Co Clare has been named as Shay Lynch from Clonlara.

He died after being brought to University Hospital Limerick following the incident at the Lakeside Hotel in Kilalloe.

Scoil Seanain Naofa in Clonlara, where Shay was a 1st class pupil, described him as ‘kind-hearted’ with a ‘bright smile’.

Local Councillor Michael Begley says it’s a ‘devastating’ and ‘shocking’ incident which happened while a friend’s Confirmation was being celebrated.
