The number of pupils enrolled in secondary schools in Clare has increased by over 7 percent in the last four years.

New figures from the Central Statistics Office show there are 8,850 students enrolled at second level institutions in this county, a number that’s steadily increased since 2018.

Almost ten percent of these students are considered to be from backgrounds other than Ireland, according to the CSO.

Nearly 450 pupils here are from other EU countries, with 132 from the UK, 88 from Asia and the Middle East and a further 64 from the US and Canada.
