68 people in Clare have been issued with free travel passes since rules were relaxed to include more people deemed medically unfit to drive.
Last May the scope of the scheme was broadened so that those with epilepsy could avail of the scheme without completing a means test.

However, the number of people with a free travel pass for medical purposes in Clare is currently the second lowest in Munster, only overcoming Kerry.
According to the Department of Children, Disability of Equality, 3,478 such passes have now been issued nationwide.
