The region’s main hospital remains the busiest in the country, as the week begins.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 64 people were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 54 of those in the Emergency Department.

It’s 21 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 263 patients have been left waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
