There’s been a spike in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital as the week begins.
The latest INMO figures show 61 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 32 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is two dozen more than the next busiest facility.
