60 Patients On Trolleys At Region’s Main Hospital Today

Nurses say 60 people were left waiting for beds at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 47 patients were waiting on trolleys in the emergency department at University Hospital Limerick this morning, with a further 13 accommodated in overflow areas of wards.

The Dooradoyle facility is once again the most overcrowded in the country, with the overall number waiting to be admitted 15 more than the next busiest facility.
