Clare County Council has given the green light for 60 houses to be built in South-East Clare.
Ahaclare Development Ltd will deliver the housing estate in Sixmilebridge.
The site in Sixmilebridge will see the 60-unit housing estate developed next to the existing estate on Ashview Drive.
The development will consist of 14 detached houses and 46 semi-detached homes.
53 of the homes will be three-bedroom properties, while 7 will have four bedrooms.
The application was subject to 7 separate objections, including from the Ashview Drive Resdients Association.
Local residents cited concerns in relation to traffic congestion, loss of existing car parking, site access and pedestrian safety.
Clare County Council granted permission for the development, subject to 27 conditions.
