Over 500 Anti-Social Behaviour Complaints In Clare Local Authority Housing Estates So Far This Year

Over 500 complaints relating to anti-social behavior in local authority housing have been lodged with Clare County Council since January.

New figures also show more than 50% of housing inspections carried out by the Council’s Tenancy Enforcement Team so far this year, took place between June and August

The Tenancy Enforcement team carries out continued patrols of council housing estates and Traveller sites and the local authority says it has a very visible presence to manage and mitigate against complaints of antisocial behaviour.

New figures published by Clare County Council show there were over 7,100 observations of tenancies as part of these patrols in the year to date.

Of the 504 complaints of antisocial behaviour recorded this year, 124 were made between June 21st and August 25th.

The figure marks an increase of 26% from the 98 anti-social behaviour complaints received from May to June.

The Tenancy Enforcement Team meanwhile carried out 68 housing inspections between June and August and ultimately 31 Tenancy Notifications or Warnings were issued , while 11 referrals were made to the tenancy support service.

Just one abandonment notice was issued during this timeframe, while keys were collected from 11 Casual Vacancies.

While so far this year just one property has been repossessed.
