New figures from the Central Statistics Office show last year’s sales numbers were just shy of a 5 percent drop on the 1,541 transactions that took place in this county in 2021.
However, the sales activity across the Banner in 2022 was still the second highest figure since 2016, and a near doubling of 2013’s numbers.
However, there were 111 transactions in December, which was the lowest figure for that month here in nearly a decade.
The average price of dwelling transactions in Clare in 2022 was over €219,000, which is a near 15 percent jump on 2021, and a 40 percent spike since 2018.
The median price of a house here last year, sometimes seen as a more accurate indicator of the overall picture, stands at €215,000.
Clare saw the lowest number of property transactions in Munster in 2022, with just 11 counties seeing lower activity levels than the Banner.
