There's a spike in the number of patients waiting for beds at the region's main hospital once again today.

48 people were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning according to figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
24 of those are in the Emergency Department, while a further 24 are being accomodated in overflow areas of wards.
Its the second highest figures in the country, with 49 people waiting on trolleys in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
