Nearly fifty schoolchildren in Clare have STILL not secured a place on a school bus for this school year.
Figures released to the Dáil on January 21st by Education Minister Norma Foley show that 48 children here have not secured a bus place despite being eligible for the school transport scheme.

She told the house that pupils, while eligible, applied late and still have not secured a place, although Bus Eireann is continuing to offer tickets where capacity may exist.
When schools are operating at full capacity, Bus Éireann is transporting over 113,000 students daily, but 1,758 nationally have been unsuccessful in securing a seat.
