It's 13 more than the next busiest facility – at Cork University Hospital 34 people, in total, are waiting to be admitted.

It follows a warning from the UL Hospitals Group in recent days, that the Dooradoyle facility is increasing increased patient numbers, leading to long waiting times.

The Hospital is urging people to contact their GP or GP out-of-hours service in the first instance and to attend the Medical Assessment Unit or the Injury Unit at Ennis General Hospital, where possible.
