Hospital trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is more than double that of any other facility in the country.

The latest figures from the INMO shows 46 patients were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 33 of those on trolleys in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 28 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 136 patients were left waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
