€40,000 in funding has been allocated for walking trails in Clare.
16 trails in the county will receive grants of between €1,000 and €3,000 and can be put towards the cost of purchasing equipment, small scale maintenance and marketing of the registered trail.
Trails of over 20km will receive the full €3,000 grant, with the Tullaher Loop, the Mid Clare Way and the East Clare way qualifying in Clare.

Bodyke Fine Gael Councillor Joe Cooney says the East Clare Way in particular will benefit from the grant, due to the vast span of the trail.
