The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has fallen.
But University Hospital Limerick is still one of the busiest in the country, with 40 patients on trolleys there this morning, according to the latest INMO figures, 26 of those in the Emergency Department.
The same overall figure has been recorded at Cork University Hospital on a day when 197 patients have been left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
