Nurses have reported 40% more patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick alone today, than all ten Eastern hospitals combined.
The latest trolleywatch analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows a reduction in the level of overcrowding at the Dooradoyle facility today, though UHL remains by far the busiest hospital in the country.

According to the figures, 120 admitted patients were waiting for beds there during morning rounds, down from 133 yesterday.
This compares to 83 on trolleys across the ten hospitals in the east of the country, with 45 and 30 awaiting beds at Galway and Cork University Hospitals respectively.
