Trolley numbers are on the rise at the region’s main hospital once more today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows 39 patients were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 23 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 13 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 134 patients were left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
