The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has dropped slightly today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 38 patients were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 24 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is tied for the busiest facility in the country with Cork University Hospital, and comes on a day when 154 patients were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
