There’s been a more than 37% increase in the number of homes granted planning permission in Clare in the first six months of this year.
From January to June of 2022, more than 300 houses were given the green light.
A total of 312 houses were granted planning permission in Clare in the first six months of 2022.
This is a more than 37% increase on the same time last year when 214 houses were given the green light.
However, the number of permissions granted has dropped marginally between the first and second quarters of this year.
In the first three months 161 houses were given the ok, while the following three months saw 151 get the go ahead.
The number of multi-development houses granted permission in the banner in the first half of 2022 increased by 43%.
While the number of one-off houses being built in the county has jumped by 31%.
The number of private flats or apartments given the go-ahead in the county is still relatively low – with 12 receiving permission in the first half of both 2022 and 2021.
However, permission was granted for 7 flats in quarter two of this year, compared to 5 in the first quarter.
