Clare has been issued an initial allocation of almost 300 thousand euro for improving energy efficiency in local authority homes.
Works will include draught proofing, attic insulation and where appropriate cavity wall insulation.

Nationally 30 million euro will be invested in a three year jobs stimulus programme which will see 25 thousand of the poorest insulated local authority homes worked on throughout 2014.
In 2013 Clare had 366 units retrofitted to achieve energy efficiency out of the 13 thousand homes across the country.
