Gardaí are preparing files for the DPP following several arrests in connection with serious crime in West Clare, including a number of aggravated burglaries.

3 men were detained by officers in the Kilrush area yesterday morning as part of a planned operation into serious criminal activity and crimes against the elderly.
It follows a number of incidents including an aggravated burglary on an elderly man during which he was held against his win in his own home and a substantial amount of money stolen from him
The 3 held in connection with the incidents have since been released without charge but files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution.
