A 3 month old child and mother remain in a critical but stable condition following a road crash in west Clare.

The two car collision occurred in Lissycasey last night on the main Ennis to Kilrush road at around 5pm.
The child and it's mother were taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Limerick where both are believed to be in a serious but critical condition.
Two men who were travelling in the same car and an eldery woman who was the sole occupant of the second car were also taken to UHL where their condition is described as stable.
The road remains closed this morning with Gardai saying it is due to re open between 11am and 12 noon.
