3 in court over alleged Limerick abduction

Three men have appeared in court in relation to an investigation into claims that a young mother was beaten and raped while held captive for 6 days in a Limerick apartment earlier this month.

The woman in her 20’s is understood to have told Gardaí  she was abducted and bundled into a car by three men while walking home in the city on the third of May.

She says she was held against her will and subjected to rape and beatings over a six day period, before being released.

David Hurley, reporter with the Limerick Leader newspaper, was in court yesterday where one man was accused of assaulting the woman and two others faced charges of false imprisonment:
