279 arrests have been made to juveniles by Gardai in Clare in the last five years.
Figures released to the Oireachtas by Justice Minister Helen McEntee show the number of detainments of people aged under 18 detained by Gardai in this county halved in 2021.

26 arrests to youths were made here last year, compared to 53 in 2020.
While there is no breakdown available of subsequent charges brought or the crimes the individuals were arrested for, Clare’s figures are among the lowest in the country.
