Over 250 Clare children are receiving support from foodbanks in Ennis and in Kilrush.

The figure has been released by Mid-West Simon, which is operating the food banks here in Clare, as well as others in Limerick and North Tipperary.
Figures from the Department of the Environment also show a 55 percent rise in the number of homeless families since the beginning of the year.
