A man has been arrested in connection with the assault of three people in Ennis.
A woman in her fifties escaped serious injury after an incident at a fast food restaurant on O’Connell Street at around 6.30 last evening.
While, two men aged in their fifties and seventies were hospitalised following a second incident in the Friars Walk car park shortly afterwards.
A 25-year-old Czech national was arrested in the county town this afternoon in connection with the incidents and is being questioned at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He can be held for up to 24 hours.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone in the O’Connell Street area or the Friars Walk car park around that time, who may have witnesses the incidents to contact them on 065 68 48 100.
