There has been a significant drop in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital at the week begins.

The latest INMO figures show 22 people were left waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 12 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figures is 14 fewer than the busiest hospital in the country today; Cork University Hospital, and comes on a day when 145 patients have been waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
