Figures from the Department of Social Protection have revealed that there are over 200 young people in Clare who have been unemployed for a year or more.
They’re among 9,000 nationally under the age of 26 that have been in receipt of jobseeker’s allowance, jobseeker’s benefit or signing for credits for at least 12 months.

In its Pre Budget 2019 submission, the National Youth Council Ireland, is calling for an investment of €22 million in education and training to halve long-term youth unemployment by the end of 2019.
