Minister Phil Hogan has given the green light for Clare Local Development Company to grant 200,000 euro for the development of 2 grass playing pitches and a synthetic pitch at Clarisford, Killaloe.

The grant will cover around half of the overall cost of the project, which is being driven by the  Ballina/Killaloe Sports & Community Facilities Development Company

South East Clare Councillor Pascal Fitzgerald says the project has come about because of the work of a number of interested groups, including Killaloe native and former Ireland and Lions star Keith Wood.
