20% Of Homes In Clare Receive ‘A’ BER Rating

Only one fifth of homes in Clare with a Building Energy Rating received an ‘A’ grade.

New figures released by the Central Statistics Office show that only 15 homes in the county made the top A1 grade.

Almost 26,000 homes in Clare have received a BER rating in the past 13 years, with 1,933 certs handed out this year.

 

 

Over the nearly 2,000 houses surveyed so far this year, only a fifth were in receipt of an ‘A’ grade.

15 homes were labelled A1 in terms of energy efficiency, up 133% on the three homes which made the grade last year.

However, the majority of homes in the county are still rated as ‘C’ on the scale, with over 27% in this category.

Clare has improved in terms of the number of homes at the lower end of the scale.

601 properties received grades between D and G last year, compared to 523 this year – a drop of nearly 14%.
