There’s been a 20 percent fall in the number of diesel vehicles registered in Clare since the beginning of the year.
New data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry shows 390 diesel cars were documented in this county between January and April, compared to 493 in the same timeframe in 2021.

Overall new vehicle registrations have remained at similar levels to last year, with a 58 percent rise in the number of new electric cars here.
Director General of SIMI, Brian Cooke, says further State supports for those looking to go electric are needed.
