Two men are in a critical condition in hospital following a car accident on the outskirts of Ennis last night.

The two-car collision occured on the Old Gort Road near the Barefield Roundabout just after seven o’clock.
The men, aged in their late 20s and in their 60s, were the sole occupants of the vehicles involved in the incident and were taken to University Hospital Limerick.
The road was closed for a number of hours, but re-opened at around 11 o’clock last night.
