195 Domestic Violence Act safety orders have been issued in Clare so far in 2022.
New figures released to the Oireachtas by Justice Minister Helen McEntee show 474 such orders have been issued by Gardai in this county since the beginning of last year.
It comes after the Department of Justice recently published Zero Tolerance: the Third National Strategy to Combat Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence.

7,779 such orders have been issued nationwide so far this year, with Clare accounting for around 1 in every 40 of those.
