It comes as visiting restrictions remain in place at University Hospital Limerick due to a high incidence of flu in the Mid-West Region.
UL Hospitals Group says every precaution is being taken in this busy flu season with management and staff working with their community colleagues to monitor, treat and contain instances of flu-like illness.
The hospital is asking anyone considering visiting a patient not to attend if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms, while children under 14 are not allowed to visit.
