There are now almost 18,000 people working in foreign companies based in the MidWest.
It comes as it’s revealed there’s been a 5 percent jump in this region in jobs created by IDA-backed companies in 2017 – and also a 4 percent rise in Enterprise Ireland-backed employment.
The IDA has highlighted the addition of 100 jobs by Element Six in Shannon and Beckman Coulter, near Tulla, creating 70 jobs as two of the most significant announcements last year.
