Over 1,800 people in County Clare are currently on a passport waiting list.
This is despite Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney insisting there’s no backlog.

Over 400,000 passports have been issued so far this year, with the average turnaround time for an application currently standing at 20 days.
Approximately 7,400 people are waiting in the MidWest for the travel document, with Clare making up almost a quarter of those on the list.
