180 people in Clare are currently availing of the short-time work support under jobseeker’s benefit.
The scheme provides an income support payment for employees who have been temporarily placed on a shorter working week, due to business challenges affecting their employment.

The number of people in this county availing of the support has increased marginally as of the end of May, as a number of industries were given the green light to begin trading again as restrictions eased.
More than 4,500 people are currently being considered under the scheme nationwide.
