There was an 18% increase in car sales in Clare last year.
The increase, according to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, saw 3150 new cars sold here in 2016, up by 480 from the year before.
This 18% increase is slightly above the national average.
The Society says that, throughout Ireland, over 146 thousand new cars were sold last year, the highest in eight years.
