The Ombudsman for Children’s Office received 18 complaints from Clare relating to children’s rights in 2022.
1,812 complaints nationwide were received in 2022 by the OCO which is an organisation that deals with complaints about services for children and is an alternative to court for those who are not happy with responses they have received from government departments and public services.
The OCO’s Annual Report for 2022 shows that education was the most complained about issue with 30% of overall complaints relating to the likes of bullying, expulsion, suspension and special education resources.
