Power has been restored to a further 6,000 premises across the Banner county, as just over 16,000 households and businesses brace for a fourth day without power.
Supply was restored to properties in the Kilkee, Whitegate, Feakle, Tulla and Kilnamona areas yesterday evening, taking the total number of restorations seen in Clare to over 28,000.
ESB crews have been working, meanwhile, to restore power to homes and businesses in Sixmilebridge, Moveen, Lahinch, Quilty, Broadford and Carigaholt across last night and this morning.
The ESB has described Storm Éowyn as “by far the worst storm” it’s ever experienced in terms of customers losing supply and the scale of damage to the network.
ESB Technical Manager, Michael Sammin, says crews are still experiencing new faults and damages in Clare and there’s still ‘a week’s work’ in fully restoring power countywide.
