Over 150 groups have registered to form part of the county's new Public Participation Network.

The groups from Clare's community and voluntary, social and environmental sectors are looking to form part of the network which aims to enhance the public's role in forming local Government policy.

A county-wide network is being established, as well as one in each of the four municipal authorities in Ennis, Shannon, Killaloe and West Clare.
