133 Patients Without A Bed At UHL Today

This region’s only hospital with an emergency department is more overcrowded than the next three busiest facilities in the country combined today and separately all ten eastern hospitals put together as well.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has recorded 133 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick during this morning’s rounds.

119 patients are without a bed today at the ten major eastern hospitals stretching from Dublin to Kildare, while the total number of patients on trolleys at Galway, Cork and Letterkenny University Hospitals comes to 126.

Nationally 524 patients are without a bed this morning, with one-quarter of those waiting in Dooradoyle.
