Enda Kenny’s six years as Taoiseach will come to an end today.
He’ll formally resign later today after chairing his final cabinet meeting this morning.
After six years in the job, Mr Kenny will leave the Taoiseach’s office in Government Buildings today.
This morning he’ll chair his last Cabinet meeting and say a formal goodbye to the Ministers.
Then it’s into the Dáil chamber at 2 to inform TDs and the nation that he intends to travel to Aras an Uachtarán for the last time.
It’s likely that trip will take place after a number of short farewell speeches to him in the Dáil.
He’ll remain as caretaker Taoiseach overnight until the Dáil meets again tomorrow to elect Leo Varadkar.
